As the name suggests, a Chinese chef’s knife is designed for preparing Asian food. Ultimately, however, it is capable of so much more. For due to its versatility and good handling characteristics, more and more professional and amateur chefs around the world are swearing by this exotic model. Although shaped like an axe, the Chinese chef’s knife is not used to chop firm foods. As its blade is too thin to shatter bones, it is designed for precision dicing fruit and vegetables and chopping herbs. Unlike its European counterpart, the blade of the Chinese chef’s knife is extremely wide.
